BRIDGE CENTER STILL CLOSED
With the recent announcement that bars and indoors dining is closed again, we cannot say when the Fresno Bridge Center will be able to reopen. Your safety is the most important issue. There are still many options for playing bridge online. Bridge Base Online (BBO) has many games every day.

 ONLINE BRIDGE
Robot individual games start every hour. In these games, you play against three robots who play an average game. Whatever bid they make, you can inquire what the bid means merely by clicking the bid. Be sure to do that. Robot games pay ACBL points and cost less than $2. Every once in a while, you may want to curse your robot partner, but not too often. There is one robot game each day for the benefit of clubs for $6. You can start any time during the day so long as you finish before 10 pm.
The ACBL is holding a National Robot Tournament on July 11-13. If you haven’t played with robots, there are free practice robot games on July 4 and 5.
BBO has three pair games a day for the benefit of clubs at 7 am, 2 pm, and 4:30 pm for $5.  We can also play at the Desert Cities Bridge Club for $6. This is good if there are special club games, but we do not get any financial benefit. There are other pair games through the day, almost every hour, for less than $2.  In these games, we’ve played against Fresno players and others from throughout the world – even Scotland and Poland. The pair games are all stratified. Call up one of your friends and ask them to play with you online.
Proceeds for the games for the benefit of clubs go to the clubs that you have visited.

The ACBL has held regional tournaments online where you can win gold points. Check the ACBL website and the Messages on BBO if you are interested.

PLACES AND FACES
At the recent Endless Summer Online Regional, Pete Weber was 40th in the Gold Rush pairs. Former Fresnans John and Della Schnell were 16th in the side game. John was eleventh in the open pairs. If you win something online, please e-mail so we can post it.

Congratulations to Mark Stern, a new Sapphire Life Master.
