We have changed our affiliation to Duncan Bridge Center for players who have played in the 750 games on Tuesday or Thursday. The reason is that DBC provides 399er games at 9:30 am and 750 games at 1:10 pm every day. If you played in the Fresno 750 games, you can play in any DBC game. FRESNO BRIDGE CENTER STILL CLOSED
The State of California now requires those over 65 to stay at home. The Fresno County Department of Health and the State of California recommend no gatherings with over ten people 65 or older. The City of Fresno now requires non-essential businesses to close. Therefore the Fresno Bridge Center will remain closed until it is safe. The State of California is allowing some businesses to reopen. We do not meet the criteria to reopen yet. We will continue to monitor the situation and announce further instructions when needed. Please observe all precautions and stay healthy. Bridge is still available on line. BridgeBase Online (BBO) is a popular site. http://www.bridgebase.com/ BBO now has games to support closed bridge clubs. Check ACBL games. Three pair games and one individual game each day support your local bridge club. Also, if you wish to support the Desert Cities Bridge Club (DCBC), you can play in their club games on BBO, That may be especially useful when they offer special games. DESERT CITY BRIDGE CLUB (DCBC)
We have not started virtual club games, but our clubs are now pooling with the Desert Cities Bridge Club (DCBC) so that you can enter their games if you have won any master points in our games last year or played this year. The DCBC has online games every day for $6. Just get on BBO, be sure you have a payment account, find the DCBC game under Virtual Clubs, ACBL – North America, click the game and invite your partner. You can find the DCBC schedule online at www.desertcitiesbridge.com. If you played in Fresno on Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, you should play at the Duncan Bridge Center. If you played any other time, you can play at DCBC. |
Our condolences to the family of Patricia Alviso, who passed away on July 29, 2020. She was a market researcher. She told us she was surprised to learn that the office where she conducted market research was the very same place that she has played bridge with us.
